If you are at risk from flooding we urge you to prepare and mitigate against the devastation of being flooded.
The Environment Agency report, ‘Flooding in England’ (June 2009) states that one in six homes in England are at risk of flooding. The Agency reports that in England 2.4 million properties are at risk of flooding from rivers or the sea – of which nearly 500,000 are at significant risk.
Flood protection can take many forms from the use of door guards, flood barrier systems (like our flood defence barriers, Floodstop) as well other simple methods of protection.
As a company we do not advise the use of sandbags. Time and time again they have proved utterly ineffective as a flood protection tool. They are time consuming to assembly, prone to excessive leakage and can only be used once (as they rot).
